The Court of Appeal, First Circuit will be closed on Friday. November 23, 2023, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.  
 
AND

Acting in accordance with Louisiana Constitution, article V, section 1, and the inherent power of this court, considering Governor Edwards' Proclamation Number 195 JBE 2023 declaring Friday, November 24, 2023, a legal holiday in observance of Acadian Day, the associated closures of state offices and courthouses, and the effect of the proclamation and closures on legal deadlines,

IT IS ORDERED that the Louisiana Court of Appeal, First Circuit shall be closed on Friday, November 24, 2023. All filings due on Friday, November 24, 2023, shall be deemed timely if filed on or before Monday, November 27, 2023. This closure shall not affect this court's administration of emergency matters.
This closure shall serve as an exception to the Human Resources Management Manual for the First Circuit Court of Appeal.
