The Louisiana Court of Appeal, First Circuit seeks an attorney with the professional demeanor to interact with the public and work with the judges of the court. The position also requires knowledge of appellate procedure to provide assistance to litigants, and the managerial skills to supervise the daily administrative and operational activities of the Clerk of Court's Office.

Chief Deputy Clerk requirements:
• Juris Doctor degree by an ABA approved law school
• Member in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar Association
• Two years minimum of general legal experience in a court or other legal setting
• Supervisory or managerial experience is a plus

Chief Deputy Clerk duties:
• Directs the daily duties of the Deputy Clerks and Assistant Clerks of the Clerk's Office
• Monitors the lodging, docketing, filing, and disposition of matters processed in the Clerk's Office
• Reviews a variety of motions, correspondence, and orders requiring action by the court
• Confers with judges and staff attorneys on a daily basis in the processing of cases
• Works under the direct supervision of the Clerk of Court

The starting salary range is $64,726-$87,452.
